Arcachon Bus

ArcachonThere are 3 bus services in Arcachon that came into operation on the 1st March 2007 run by COBAS (Communauté d'Agglomération du Bassin d'Arcachon Sud) in an effort to reduce vehicle exhaust emissions. The Arcachon buses run on Diester fuel, which is a mixture of 70% diesel and 30% ester. The ester is produced from vegetable oils, such as rapeseed, sunflower, soya and palm oils. The Arcachon buses diesel engines didn't need any changes to be powered with Diester. The fuel is non-toxic, biodegradable and free of sulphur and aromatics. Like Arcachon, many towns own buses running on Diester.
